7th Grade Band

After completing the introductory 6th grade year and all requirements are met, music students now have the opportunity to enroll in the OJ DeJounge Middle School 7th Grade Band. Music students meet every day during 1st hour. Band members are not only involved in the day to day music rehearsals, but are now a part of something bigger! Students will have the opportunity to play for a judge at the MSBOA Solo and Ensemble which happens both in November and in April. Also, students will be invited to participate in extra-curricular band social events, fund-raising efforts and possible trips. This year is specifically geared towards 6th grade review and enhancing the strong music foundation the student builds in 6th grade. Music difficulty levels move up as well as the level of expectations. Students are evaluated on a daily basis in many areas with room in the schedule for remedial help. Our goal is to develop not only great musicians, but also great leaders and citizens.
