7th Grade Solo Ensemble

MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) hosts a festival every year which gives students the opportunity to perform a piece of music as a solo or with others to form an ensemble. Music is given to interested students who have paid the appropriate fees for entry early in the school year. The students, with the help of their music teachers or private music teachers, work on the piece. On the festival day, students will travel to the selected festival location (Rides to this festival are to be provided by the parent, no school bussing available.) The student will arrive at the festival 45 minutes before their performance time. The student will then perform their piece in front of a certified MSBOA judge. All parents and spectators are welcome to be audience members! The judge will listen to the performance and rate the performance as I (One) Excellent, II (Two) Above Average, III (Three) Average, IV (Four) Below Average and V (Five) Much Below Average. After the performance, the student will receive one on one time with the judge to gain valuable input and constructive criticism along with a judges sheet that has hand written comments
