Meet Our Administration

Cal DeKuiper Cal DeKuiper, Superintendent, Ludington Area Schools The Fine Arts program at Ludington Area School remains very strong and the band program is growing faster than all hopes and expectations. This website is intended to showcase the success of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of our community. Congratulations to all as the tradition continues.

Dale Horowski Dale Horowski, Principal, Ludington High School General Robert E. Lee once said he couldn't have an army without music. That's the way I feel about the band. We couldn't have a school without a band. They are out front leading the way at every turn.

Dan Mesyar, Vice Principal, Ludington High School Dan Mesyar Our band sets us apart from every school we play in every sport. I can't think of basketball without the O'Funk or football games without our marching band. Our band rocks!

Missy Bansch Missy Bansch, Principal, OJ DeJounge Middle School The staff and administration at O.J. DeJonge Middle School strongly support a full exploratory curriculum experience for our students. One of the National Middle School Association’s belief statements from their paper titled, “This We Believe: Successful Schools for Young Adolescents” states that all successful middle schools provide “Curriculum that is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory.” It is extremely important during adolescence that students have the opportunity to engage in a variety of experiences that will aide them in determining their special interests, aptitudes, and make informed career and recreational life choices.
We are so excited to be part of an expanding band program. More than one third of our student body chooses to participate in instrumental music. The band program is available during the school day and in all three grades at O.J. Middle School. Our instructors are top notch and have earned the backing of our community and parents. Let the Oriole Band tradition continue!

Steve Brockelbank Steve Brockelbank, Athletic Director, Ludington Area Schools The Ludington High School Marching Band and Pep Band create an atmosphere of excitement at football and basketball games that could not be matched without their contribution. They make an athletic event special because you can sense their enthusiasm and hear their school sprit through the music they play. When you come to a Ludington High School Athletic Event you get two tickets for the price of one, your ticket to the athletic contest and a ticket to a great music show. Coaches, players, and fans feed off the music they play and the atmosphere they create. Keep up the good work, keep playing outstanding music, and thanks for making our athletic events special.
