BREAK

This is the Ludington Band’s only fundraiser of the year which proves to be a huge money maker every year. The fundraiser is very simple. All students who participate pay a $10.00 fee which is their donation. Their donation pays for three games of bowling, all you can eat pizza and pop, shoes and cosmic bowling. Once the student signs up, they receive a pledge sheet. The students can get pledges in two ways which are a flat donation or a per cent per pin donation. Most students usually get flat donations, but if they get a per cent per pin donation, three games at 100 pins per game equals three hundred pins multiplied by the cents per pin pledged. After the students bowl, usually held on a Sunday in two shifts from 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm, they will receive an envelope. The student has one week to collect the money and bring it to their director sealed in the collection envelope. Students who receive the most money and the most single pledges win a very nice prize sponsored by Western Land Services. Along with the big prizes for this event, there are other prizes given away for best team costumes and strike on the spot!

2011 Band Bowl Sunday March 6th 1-4pm and 5-8pm at Country Lanes

Thank you for participating in the 2012 Ludington Band Bowl. This activity is a chance for all of us to get together on a Sunday afternoon/evening for a few hours of bowling, food, and fun while making money for the Ludington Band Department. Here is how it works:

How do we make money? There will be approx 160+ people doing this fundraiser. If each individual gets a total of $80.00 in pledges, we will make $12800.00 If everyone beats this mark, our totals will raise dramatically. One more pledge per person makes a HUGE difference! $5.00 x 160 =$800.00!! Last year we raised slightly over $9000.00 which was down from previous years. So get as many pledges as you can as our goal this year is $13000.00. Prizes will be awarded for most money earned and most individual pledges.

Here is how we do this!

1) Get a pledge sheet-Sample sheet attached along with clean pledge sheet. Download the Band Bowl Pledge Sheet here.

2) Put your name on it!

3) Go out and get pledges. Office buildings, places you parents work, grandparents, aunts, uncles and door to door. (“Hi, my name is (Band Student) and I am raising money for the Ludington Band Department. Would you consider pledging me for our annual Bowl-A-Thon?”)

Either cents per pin or flat donation.

Remember 2 cents per pin will add up to a six dollar donation if the participant bowls a total of 300 pins for 3 games. All totals will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.

A flat donation (Just money given towards the cause) usually makes more money and is encouraged.

4) Write down pledge name, phone number, address and amount of donation. You can collect money then or after you bowl. Keep pre-collected money in a safe place!!

5) DO NOT LOOSE PLEDGE SHEET!! Make a copy just in case.

6) Hand pledge sheet to Mr. Malt TUESDAY March 2nd DO NOT HAND IN MONEY WITH YOUR PLEDGE SHEET. ALL MONEY WIL BE COLLECTED ONE WEEK AFTER THE EVENT.

7) COME BOWL AND HAVE A GREAT TIME

8) Get updated pledge sheet after bowling from Mr. Malt. The pledge sheet will have the amount of money that is due with any per cent per pin added to the total.

9) Money is due to Mr. Malt anytime before FRIDAY March 11th! REMEMBER that you are responsible for all money on your pledge sheet, so it is smart to deposit money that is collected into a checking account and write one check for the total amount to the Ludington Band Department.

You will have to pay a $10.00 participation fee which will cover the cost of shoes and 3 games of bowling. All the pizza and pop you can consume will be included!! $10.00 is due to Mr. Malt by FRIDAY JAN 28th. This secures your spot.

Prizes to be announced will be awarded for highest individual pledge numbers, most pledges, and most creative team uniform.

What happens if someone will not pay their pledge? All you need to do is send a note with your envelope. The names and the phone numbers are on the entire pledge sheet. The person in question will be contacted for verification of the no payment.

Please remember that you are taking up a spot in this event. If you commit to the event you need to get pledges The success of this year will determine if this event will take place in the future.

Have a great time!
