LHS Wind Symphony

The LHS Wind Symphony is comprised of students grades 9-12. The Wind Symphony starts in October after Marching Season. Students are auditioned for chair placement shortly after marching season. The band is involved with two concerts a year and also works hard towards our MSBOA District One Band Festival which traditionally takes place in Big Rapids. From members of the Wind Symphony, many groups are formed to participate in the MSBOA District One Solo and Ensemble Festival which is held in January. If time and personnel allows, a select group of students are pulled out of the Wind Symphony to form the LHS Chamber Winds group. This group is geared towards highly advanced music students and future music majors. The band is involved with many community events and fundraising efforts. Also, the band does travel every other year which is extremely fun and memorable for our students!
